Grade 10 Assembly: Club Promotion
On February 26, the sophomores of SHSID participated in the first assembly of the new semester. This time, various teachers and students shared upcoming club activities and competitions, inspiring and informing students of the exciting opportunities awaiting them this term.
The assembly began with an introduction of a Model United Nations conference taking place in April. Members of the club highlighted how MUN is not only an academic activity but also a platform that can train students' public speaking, diplomatic and collaborative skills. In each conference, participants step into the roles of country representatives, negotiating with other representatives to address real-world problems while keeping decisions in their nation’s interests.
In addition to the speech made by members of the Model United Nations Club, the Artificial Intelligence Club also held an enthusiastic recruitment activity during the assembly. As presented by the leader of the Artificial Intelligence Club, this club aims to introduce students to the wonderful world of artificial intelligence. The club introduces basic concepts of artificial intelligence—machine learning, deep learning, and more—in a simple and easy-to-understand language and lets the students feel the power and charm of AI through some vivid cases.
At the end of the club's presentation activities, Grade head Ms. Wu shared with everyone the various activity arrangements for the new semester and presented awards to students who received honors last semester. Ms. Wu encouraged the students to manage their time wisely and to focus on their studies as well as on various extracurricular activities.
