High School Life-Planning Lectures for Grade10 Held
At the opening of the new semester, in order to help students broaden their horizons and enrich their learning experiences, teachers from the school's TA Office, STEAMS Office, and CC Office organized a series of course lectures in Xianmian Building to convey key information about summer school and university applications, key information about the upcoming science and technology innovative competitions, and other aspects in a lively and engaging way.
Firstly, Ms. Ma from the TA Office lectured on the illustrated theme: "Plan for a Great Summer". Through her speech, Ms. Ma explained to the students the various criteria for selecting a summer school, including considerations from the geographical locations of the university, the strength of their faculties, personal interests, and many examples of summer schools around the world. Subsequently, a student representative, Ethan, who had participated in the summer school of the University of Pennsylvania, shared with everyone the specific application process of these summer school programs, including screening suitable projects and preparing application materials, as well as their way of learning and general lifestyle on the university campus. All students listened attentively and benefited greatly from the set of speeches delivered to them.
Furthermore, Ms. Zhang from the STEAMS Office compiled all the major subject activities and dates from multiple academic fields, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, information science, linguistics, etc., and introduced the principles of science and technology innovation projects, encouraging everyone to participate and improve themselves actively. Later, students who participated in physics and mathematics competitions shared their experiences and academic growth through the competitions with their peers. We believe that through this sharing, students can achieve greater results in these competitions introduced in the new semester!
In addition, Ms. Cui from the CC Office provided a comprehensive and in-depth explanation of college applications. She carefully sorted out the materials required for university applications and emphasized the differences and requirements for applying to schools in different regions. Ms. Cui provided students with extensive answers to their questions and helps them to prepare adequately for their university applications.
Finally, Mr. He from the STEAMS Office introduced the M3 course selection for this semester to the students. He first reviewed the achievements and gains of the students in the M3 course last semester and encouraged them to transfer the knowledge and skills they learned to practical life. During the explanation, Mr. He acquainted the excellent videos created by different courses, providing a detailed introduction to a variety of options including cultural heritage pastry making, 3D modeling design, vocal training and singing, racing challenges, and the diverse aspects of material painting, helping everyone choose courses that match their interests and development in the new semester.
