Grade 11 Assembly: A Journey in Art Design
On February 27, the Grade 11 students of SHSID held their first assembly of the second semester. At the meeting, Minnie from Class 9 shared her experience in art design.
She highlighted her experience as the art designer of the ASB, a position she took up in Grade 9 due to a shortage of designers. The feedback she received for her first submitted poster was “mid”. But despite the not-so-encouraging feedback, she explored and developed her own style through several years of experience in this position. Now, as the person in charge of the design department of the ASB, she also feels that the works of the younger students are quite “mid”, growing to understand the person who gave her the honest feedback on her first poster. She believes that the most valuable part of ASB's experience is that it has trained her to be a better demand-side person because she was often tasked with making prompts for others’ designs while trying not to limit their creativity. In addition, Minnie's art competition experience, as well as designing a poster for a charity organization that helps children with autism, have made her believe that she can impact people’s lives with her designing capabilities.
By the end of the assembly, the students were deeply inspired by Minnie's story and had a deeper understanding of art design.
