Grade 12 CAS: Mental Health and Overseas Adaptation

February 21, 2025

On the afternoon of February 19, G12 students attended a special mental health lecture during the first CAS class of the new semester. The event featured a guest speaker with extensive overseas experience, who shared his personal journey of studying abroad during high school and later in various countries. The speaker candidly discussed his initial challenges, such as language barriers, cultural shocks, and feelings of loneliness. These experiences made him deeply aware of the importance of mental health and led him to explore a range of effective psychological adjustment methods.

With most students about to graduate and head overseas for further studies, the guest speaker shared practical tips based on his own experiences, including how to cope with cultural differences, alleviate academic stress, build support networks, and maintain a positive mindset. He encouraged students to actively communicate with friends, family, or professionals when facing difficulties.

This lecture provided students with practical mental health strategies and boosted their confidence in facing new environments, laying a solid psychological foundation for their upcoming overseas studies.
