Puxi Campus G1-3: Fire Drill

March 7, 2025

To improve the response capabilities and self-protection awareness of both teachers and students in emergency situations, the SHSID Puxi Campus Grade 1-3 held a fire drill on March 5, 2025, as part of this semester's safety education. The purpose of the drill was to strengthen the safety awareness and evacuation skills of students and teachers through regular practice, ensuring that everyone can calmly respond in case of an emergency.

Before the drill, teachers explained the importance of fire drills and reviewed the correct self-rescue measures in case of a fire through personal growth classes. They emphasized that when the fire alarm sounds, students should stay calm, avoid panic, and evacuate quickly and orderly along the designated routes, without stopping to collect personal belongings from classrooms.

When the fire alarm sounded, simulated smoke was released on campus, marking the start of the drill. Teachers and students evacuated to the designated safe zones from different floors according to the evacuation plan. During the evacuation, everyone followed safety procedures by staying low to the ground and covering their mouths and noses, ensuring that each student arrived safely at the designated safe areas.

After the drill, Ms. Zhang Yi, Director of SHSID Puxi Campus Grade 1-3, provided a summary of the exercise. The students also reflected on their performance by comparing it to the fire evacuation drill requirements, evaluating their actions and identifying areas for improvement.

Additionally, each grade received a customized parent-child assignment. Some students answered fire safety questions through interactive games with their parents, while others designed home fire escape route maps or conducted fire hazard inspections in their homes. By applying their newly learned fire safety knowledge to real-life situations, they strengthened their awareness of safety in daily life.

The school will continue to prioritize campus safety, constantly improving the drill process to ensure that every teacher and student can stay calm and safely evacuate during an emergency, thereby creating creating a safer and more secure learning environment for the students.
