Puxi Campus G2 Chinese Group|A Journey in Search of Spring

March 7, 2025

At the beginning of the semester, after studying the text Finding Spring, the second-grade students at SHSID Puxi Campus embarked on a wonderful journey to find spring during their Chinese class this week, each holding a cut-out practice sheet.

The children excitedly rushed to every corner of the campus, holding up their cut-out papers and carefully observing the plants and trees before them. Look! When they held the paper to a patch of new green in the corner, the cut-out circle instantly transformed into a little frog peeking out from its shell. Through the butterfly-shaped hole in the paper, distant flowers appeared as dancing butterflies; some children even discovered that when held over the shy buds on the branches, the blank outline of a kite was adorned with vibrant colors, as if it were ready to soar with the spring breeze.

“Spring is hiding here!” one child exclaimed with joy. Through the hole in the paper, they discovered a tender leaf shining brightly in the sunlight, almost like spring’s gentle gaze. Another child, excited, held up the cut-out of a bee and pointed it at a bunch of wildflowers: “Look, this bee is collecting nectar!” The children gathered around, laughing and calling out, sharing their discoveries with one another.

Sunlight fell on their shoulders, and the spring breeze tousled their hair. As they carefully searched for spring, they couldn’t help but cheer with excitement. In this lively campus, spring was not only hidden in the branches, flowers, and grass but also in the bright eyes of the children, in their laughter, and in their boundless curiosity and love for the world.

This spring-seeking journey came to a joyful conclusion amid the children's laughter, but the beauty of spring continues. Next, they will write essays on the theme of "Finding Spring," recording their discoveries and feelings in words. They will also participate in a poetry recitation event, immersing themselves in the essence of spring and expressing their love and appreciation for the season through their voices. With their innocent eyes, the children have captured the warmth and hope of this vibrant season.
