World Languages: Bringing Literature to Life - A Theatrical Exploration

March 6, 2025

On March 5, students gathered in the ZX Building Reading Room for From Stage to Page: Theatrical Explorations of Literary Masterpieces, an interactive session that brought world literature to life through drama and discussion.

Led by World Languages teachers and students, participants explored iconic works including Goethe’s Faust in German, Les Misérables through French musical theater, García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude in Spanish, and Juan Rulfo’s Pedro Páramo from Mexico. Through dramatic readings and immersive storytelling, students engaged with the emotional depth, historical significance, and artistic impact of these literary masterpieces.

This was far more than just a reading session—it was a multisensory experience, where students listened to dramatic performances, analyzed themes, and shared their reflections on a discussion board. Many also collected stamps in their Reading-For-All booklets, marking another milestone in their month-long literary adventure.

With energy, creativity, and insightful discussions, From Stage to Page proved to be another start of Reading Month, showcasing the power of literature beyond the page. Stay tuned for more exciting events ahead!
