SHSID Middle and Primary School 2025 Instrumental Music Competition

The 2025 Shanghai High School Instrumental Music Competition for the Middle and Primary School of International Division has successfully concluded! This year’s competition featured four major categories: strings, wind instruments, traditional Chinese music and percussion, with over 130 young musicians participating. Through their refined techniques and deep musical sensitivity, the contestants conveyed passionately their love for music.

A Vibrant Showcase of Musical Expression

The young musicians delivered captivating performances and brought out the beauty of music with enthusiasm and charm. The string players painted vivid soundscapes with clear and melodious tones, demonstrating their delicate perception of melody, while the wind instrument performers showcased rich, full-bodied tones and fluid melodic lines that added depth and expressiveness to their music. The traditional Chinese music players conveyed eloquently the grace of tradition through sharing the timeless beauty of Eastern music, and the percussionists energized the stage with dynamic and powerful rhythms, delivering a performance brimming with vitality and excitement.

Through their performances, the young musicians not only found a way to express themselves but also experienced the pure joy that music brings. After an intense competition, winners were selected for First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize, and several Outstanding Participation Awards.

Music as a Companion for Growth, Composing the Future

Though the competition has come to an end, the journey of music is only just beginning. Every young performer on this stage has gained confidence and growth, and their melodies will continue to take root and flourish in the fertile ground of music. We look forward to witnessing them weave their dreams with notes, tell their stories through music, and compose their own brilliant symphony in the years to come!
