High School Biology Department: Contrasting Traits Class Activities Held
Different genes created a variety of organisms, also made each individual unique among all sentient beings. Exploring the relationship between genes and traits can not only reveal the mystery of ourselves, but also help students realize their own uniqueness and enhance self-understanding.
From February 27 to March 7, the Grade 10 biology classes successively held the classroom activities of "Exploring the Contrasting Traits of Human Body", which aroused enthusiastic responses within students. Subject teachers started with 7 pairs of different contrasting traits and guided the students to identify their own traits in turn. Several students raised their thumbs and compared the differences in their shape. Some students tried to interlock their fingers and carefully sensed the difference in the feeling after changing the order. Through the comparison of these traits, the students found that there were many similarities and differences between themselves and their classmates.
Under the guidance of the teacher, the students summarized and counted the traits of their classmates. The different ratio of each contrasting traits astonished the students.
This class activity not only enhanced the students' understanding of their own characteristics, but also deepened their understanding of the mutual influence between genes and traits. The biology group will continue to use a variety of classroom activities, flexibly use teaching resources, enhance the richness of classroom content, and stimulate students' learning interest and knowledge understanding.
