Shanghai High School International Division’s Media Festival “The One”
On March 5, 2024, the closing ceremony of the first Media Festival, "The One," at Shanghai High School International Division was grandly held in the lecture hall on B1 of the Zhongxing Building. This year's Media Festival, themed "Every Story, Unique Brilliance," combined cutting-edge technology with artistic creativity, presenting an audiovisual festival for the entire school. Over a few months, students actively organized various activities such as The One-Quiz, The One-Shot, The One-Relay, The One-Talk, and The One-Show, demonstrating immense enthusiasm and creativity. The red-carpet event was perfectly integrated with AI technology at the closing ceremony. Students dressed in various formal attires left their youthful imprints on the signature wall, and through the "Grammy" slow-motion experience, their red-carpet moments were transformed into 360-degree holographic images, showcasing the innovative fusion of technology and art.
Mr. Yu Fei, a news anchor from SMG, attended the closing ceremony as a special guest and delivered a speech. He highly praised the overall planning of the Media Festival and commended the students for their active participation. In the subsequent professional commentary, Mr. Yu Fei provided an in-depth analysis of the photography works from multiple dimensions, including composition, lighting, and thematic expression, offering students valuable professional guidance.
At the highly anticipated awards ceremony, Ms. Wang Tongyan, the instructor of the International Division's Media Group, announced the winners of various awards. Ms. Liu Min, High School Vice Principal, Ms. Liu Qin, Director of Student Center of High School, Ms. Gu Ying Director of School Affairs Center of High School, presented awards to the winning students in turn. This year's Media Festival established multiple award categories, including photography, video production, event planning, and creative design, comprehensively showcasing students' diverse talents in the media field.
Ms. Liu Qin, Director of the High School Student Center, emphasized in her speech that the theme "Every Story, Unique Brilliance; Every Individual, Brave and Fearless" will continue to inspire students to explore and innovate in the field of media. She stated that the Media Festival serves as a platform for showcasing talent and is an important vehicle for cultivating students' innovative thinking and professional skills. Notably, this year's Media Festival announced the theme for the second Media Festival in the 2025 academic year: "Crossover." Centred around four key concepts—AI, sound, montage, and AE post-production—this theme encourages students to explore new boundaries in media art and promotes interdisciplinary, innovative practices.
Although the first campus Media Festival, "The One," has come to an end, the work of the campus Media Group and the courses offered will continue. We look forward to more innovations and surprises at the next Media Festival.
