Hongkou Campus | 100 Days, 100 Smiles, 100 Memories: Celebrating 100 Days of First Grade
A Milestone Worth Celebrating: 100 Days of School!
"1, 2, 3...100!" Today, first-grade students at SHSID Hongkou Campus celebrated a special milestone—the 100th Day of School! From nervously stepping through the school gates on their first day to now joyfully running around the playground, and from shyly meeting new teachers and classmates to confidently collaborating with group partners, the students have written their own unique growth stories over these 100 days with curiosity and courage. 100 is not just a numerical milestone, but a new starting point for the children as they step into a brighter future.
Dressing Up as 100-Year-Olds!
To celebrate this special day, the first-grade teachers planned a super fun costume event. The children transformed into adorable "100-year-old seniors." The campus was full of little ones wearing silver wigs, walking with canes, and wearing reading glasses. Some mimicked the slow walk of elderly people, some pretended to read newspapers, and others imitated the speech of seniors. It was absolutely adorable! This time-traveling costume show not only allowed the children to experience the joy of growth through laughter but also gave them a deeper understanding of "time" and "growth."
Learning Through 100-Themed Activities
In addition to the costume event, teachers across various subjects prepared a series of fun and educational activities. In English class, the children used their imagination to write about what they would be like at 100 years old and what the world might look like 100 years from now.
In math class, the children became little detectives, working with their teacher to solve a mystery about the "stolen" food for the 100-day celebration. Through group cooperation, they solved five mathematical clues and successfully found the "stolen" food. Additionally, they participated in a fun activity to find missing chocolates, using a hundred chart to identify the missing numbers and discovering chocolates with matching numbers on them.
In personal growth class, the children created their own 100-day glasses. They colored the number "100" in their favorite colors, then attached the arms of the glasses, completing a craft that was both the number "100" and a pair of glasses.
Capturing the Journey: A Special 100 Days Video
To capture every moment of the children's journey from the first day of school until now, the teachers created a special 100 days video. The video showcased the children's growth from their first day of school to the wonderful moments of participating in various class and school activities. It also featured interviews with first-grade students and messages of love and blessings from parents. Some children shared how they had learned so many new things and made new friends, while others talked about challenges they had faced and how they overcame them. Parents expressed their joy in seeing their children's growth and shared how they helped them adapt and face challenges at home. This video not only recorded the children's growth but also became a beautiful memory of the school and parents witnessing their progress together.
100 Days in the Journey, A Bright Future Ahead
At the end of the celebration, the teachers awarded each child a 100 days certificate to recognize their efforts and achievements during this journey.
These 100 days were the perfect reflection of the children's adjustment to school life and the beautiful prelude to their new journey ahead. In the days to come, we look forward to them continuing with a spirit of exploration and courage.
