Primary and Middle School English Department - Reading Wonderland: Unlocking the Magic of Stories
Our Grade 1 to 3 English Department at Puxi, Zhangjiang and Lin’gang campuses recently transformed into a Reading Wonderland. This special week was designed to immerse our young readers in the magic of storytelling, inspiring their interests to explore far and wide across various literary landscapes and spark a passion for literature.
The adventure began with students joining Cuddles, a magical bookmark venturing forth on a space-themed journey. As they followed Cuddles’ interplanetary journey, students encountered and engaged with a rich variety of genres, from mystery and adventure to fairy tales, poetry, and science fiction.
Beyond the classroom, the excitement continued with enrichment activities that brought stories to life. A book drive encouraged students to share and explore new books, while Character Dress-Up Day allowed them to step into the shoes of their favorite literary heroes. The grand finale—the Mad Hatter Tea Party—whisked everyone into the whimsical world of fantasy, creating an unforgettable celebration of books and imagination.
The joy of reading didn’t stop at school. Families embraced the magic at home, with parents reading alongside their children, creating puppet shows, and engaging in book-inspired activities. This collaboration between school and home fostered a shared love for literature, reinforcing that reading is a lifelong adventure.
Our Reading Wonderland was a vibrant celebration of the power of books to transport, inspire, and connect us. With the unwavering support of our teachers, parents, and school community, this event proved that when we open a book, we open the door to endless possibilities.
Here's to many more journeys through the world of stories!
