Puxi Campus: G8 Debate Competition
Recently, the highly anticipated Grade 8 debate competition came successfully to a close in a lively atmosphere. The competition, which lasted for several weeks, attracted a large number of teachers and students to the debate venue every lunch break, where they watched the matches and cheered for the participants. After several rounds of fierce competition, Class 8-3 stood out through its outstanding performance and ultimately won the championship.
This year's debate competition covered a wide range of topics, from school life to social issues, from cultural education to technological innovation, all of which required the participants to engage in deep thinking. Each debate was filled with sparks of wisdom and the passion of youth. The debaters were eloquent and logical, demonstrating the critical thinking and language skills of Grade 8 students. Whether it was presenting arguments, refuting opponents' points, or summarizing their stance, every segment was captivating and drew continuous applause from the audience.
The championship team from Class 8-3 demonstrated exceptional teamwork and outstanding on-site performance throughout the competition. The contestants remained calm and composed in every debate, never backing down when facing strong opponents, and always thinking calmly and responding flexibly when encountering unexpected situations. Their victory is not only a personal honor but also a crystallization of the team's wisdom. As one of the contestants said after the match, "The debate competition has taught us how to listen and think, and it has also made us understand the importance of teamwork."
The success of this competition is inseparable from the hard work of the ASB and the student referee group. They adhered to the principles of fairness and justice, meticulously evaluating the participants from various aspects such as content, logic, and expression, ensuring the smooth progress of the competition and the fairness of the results. Their professionalism and dedication ensured the debate competition would be judged fairly and hosted successfully.
Though the competition has drawn to a close, each splendid debate remains etched in our memories. Both the debaters on stage and the audience members have reaped knowledge and inspiration from this experience. The debate contest was more than just a competition; it was an opportunity for growth. It taught the students how to listen to diverse voices and how to back up their viewpoints with logic and facts. Moreover, it deepened everyone's understanding of the significance of respect and cooperation.
