Puxi Campus Seventh-Grade Tower of Hanoi Challenge Concludes Successfully

March 25, 2025

To ignite students’ logical thinking, cultivate patience and focus, and promote puzzle-solving culture, the Puxi Campus Seventh Grade recently hosted a Tower of Hanoi competition, featuring both class-based and individual challenges. After intense rounds of competition, Yu from Class 7(11) claimed the championship with a time of 35.721 seconds, followed by Wang from Class 7(1) as the runner-up (37.593 seconds), while Ma from Class 7(11) finished in third place (38.167 seconds). Additionally, Class 7(2) earned the title of grade-level class champion with a time of 24.358 seconds.

At 12:30 PM, the competition officially began. Over 20 participants, seated on both sides of the venue, focused intently on the red, yellow, and blue poles with stacked disks, awaiting the signal. At the judge’s call of “Begin!”, contestants swiftly maneuvered the disks with nimble fingers according to the rules: moving only one disk at a time, never placing a larger disk on top of a smaller one. Their fluid movements captivated the audience—eyes locked on the disks, hands alternating rapidly, minds precisely anticipating each move—all while achieving record-breaking times with zero errors. Murmurs of amazement filled the room, with one math teacher remarking, “This tests not just speed, but also spatial reasoning and reverse-logic mastery!”

Miss Shen, the seventh-grade supervisor, encouraged students: “Though small, the Tower of Hanoi embodies the boundless charm of mathematics. May our students embrace thinking through play and surpass your limits through challenges.” By blending intellect with fun and fostering growth through competition, this whirlwind of mental and digital dexterity has added a vibrant spark to campus culture!
