Lin’gang Campus: “Old books meet new friends”
On the afternoon of March 20th, the cafeteria of SHSID Lin’gang Campus was bustling with excitement. The second and third grade students transformed into characters from books, dressed in character costumes and wearing different hats, and started a unique "book exchange" activity under the warm spring sun.
At the event, the children became "little stallholders" and enthusiastically attracted customers. Some stood on tiptoe, holding books high and loudly calling out to draw customers' attention; some squatted in front of their stalls, flipping through the pages and pointing at the illustrations to explain to their friends, "Look how exciting this adventure story is!" A girl with a bow in her hair held a picture book and softly introduced to the second graders, "The little animals in it can talk, just like us making friends!" The children traded their old books in a "one-for-one" exchange. In just one class period, hundreds of books found new owners. The children, holding their arms full of books, couldn't stop smiling.
Subsequently, each classroom was transformed into a "fairy tale book house" and turned into a "book party". Red festive tablecloths covered the entire classroom, and various snacks filled the tables. The children sat together, sharing their newly bought books, immersed in the ocean of books and enjoying the joy brought by reading.
This reading activity not only cultivated the children's interest in reading but also taught them the reuse of books. It is believed that students will love reading, with the fragrance of books accompanying their growth.
