Puxi Campus G8 | March Assembly
On March 28th, all eighth-grade teachers and students gathered in the auditorium for the March Grade Assembly to reflect on the vibrant school life over the past month. The assembly commenced with a summary speech by Ms. Shirley, who reviewed the numerous activities held in March, such as the intense tug-of-war competition, the spectacular debate competition, the energetic singing contest, the thrilling football matches, and the yearbook picture taking event that captured moments of youth. These activities not only enriched the students' extracurricular lives but also showcased the eighth graders' spirit of unity, collaboration, and determination.
Afterwards, Ms. Shirley announced the Star Classes, which are classes 8-2, 8-5, 8-8, 8-9, and 8-10. These classes stood out in various activities throughout the month, and they earned widespread praise from teachers and students. Subsequently, Mr. Laverriere presented the "Outstanding Participation Award" and the "Excellence in Decision-Making Award" to students who excelled in different fields. Mr. Guo then awarded the "Exemplary Leadership Award" to deserving students and presented trophies to the first, second, and third-place classes in the tug-of-war competition. Additionally, Ms. Shirley recognized the winning classes for the debate competition and outstanding debaters one by one, their remarkable performances earned enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Next, Leonel from Class 8-7, as one of the organizers of the debate competition, took to the stage to share his insights and experiences from the event. He pointed out that the significance of debating lies in the exchange of diverse viewpoints, and through rational expression, it cultivates depth of thought and communication skills. He also profoundly realized that organizing a successful activity requires teamwork and consideration of various details. Finally, Mr. Laverriere delivered a speech centered on his experiences interacting with students on WeChat. He encouraged everyone to be mindful of their words and actions on digital platforms, use positive attitudes to influence others and show the exemplary image of eighth-grade students.
The assembly ended amid applause with the hard work and joy of March transforming into motivation for the journey ahead. The teachers and students will embrace April’s new challenges with even greater enthusiasm.
