On May 10, the preliminary round of the 2025 SHSlD Educators for Future Award (High School and Arts/PE Groups) was grandly held at Zhongxing Building. This year's competition featured three signature segments—Multidimensional Talent Showcase, Pedagogical Design Mastery, and Visionary Educational Philosophy Speech—painting a vivid portrait of SHSID educators’ versatility and innovative spirit.

Cross-Dimensional Performances: Educators' Poetic Brilliance

The pre-competition talent displays shattered stereotypes, with teachers presenting sand art to interpret aesthetic education, demonstrating AI-powered smart teaching, performing traditional Chinese opera to showcase cultural heritage, and even exhibiting unique skills like boxing and welding. These extraordinary displays not only reflected the teachers' well-rounded talents but also embodied SHSID's educational philosophy of "cultivating character through culture and aesthetics."

Pedagogical Alchemy: Dual-Track Excellence

Adopting a rigorous dual-assessment model, the competition evaluated instructional design and English oratory prowess. The teaching demonstrations broke free from conventional metrics—while lesson structuring and blackboard artistry were assessed, the spotlight shifted to cultivating students’ core competencies and future-ready skills. During the philosophy speeches, educators articulated SHSID’s student-centred holistic development approach in fluent English, weaving together cutting-edge explorations of AI-enhanced classrooms with profound reflections on education’s existential purpose. Notably, many instructional designs incorporated AI technologies, signalling educators’ transformative evolution into digital-age pedagogical architects.

As a quadrennial educational spectacle, this competition has evolved into a professional growth accelerator for young educators at SHSID. The judging panel emphasised: "Young educators’ innovative practices extend beyond technological advancement—they mirror a paradigm shift from ‘knowledge transmitters’ to ‘empowerment architects’ in educational roles."

With the finals approaching, we anticipate even more inspiring performances from these outstanding educators!
