Middle school Chinese department| G6 Chinese Activity: "Meta-universe · Towards the Future" Science Fiction Speech Final

December 2, 2022

Infinite illusions can turn the unknown things into knowable while powerful technology can make virtual stuff become reality. By the light of science fiction, on December 1st afternoon, the sixth-grade teachers and students combined the concept of the meta universe with the future and created brilliant sparks. In the past month, after intense selection, six outstanding contestants gathered here to compete fiercely in the final of this science fiction speech.

First of all, Hanrui, our host from Class 6 (1), opened the prologue of the competition with a wonderful opening speech, and everyone welcomed the judges of the competition with warm applause: Mr. Shen Tianyuan, director of G6-8, Mr. Ni Minxue, director of MPTC at SHSID middle and primary school, Ms. Cheng Liyan, head of Grade 6, Ms. Liu Qiong, teacher of MPTC, Ms. Chen Fan, head of the Chinese group, and all the other teachers of the Chinese group. In addition, we are honored to invite Mr. Jiang Bo, the famous science fiction writer, as our special guest to come and share.

Next, Leo from Class 6 (10) brought his science fiction speech "An omen of heaven", which revealed the message that the mysterious crop circle was trying to convey to the mankind. Alice of 6 (8) constructed a colorful dialogue scene between people in the future and us today through the video. Yuki from Class 6 (5) told us an interesting story about a "licensed driver of a happy planet" in vivid language. Elaine from Class 6 (8) put her perspective on the intelligent robot in our home and led the students to the future after the popularization of robots. Canon from Class 6 (4) and his science fiction story "Smart Glasses" brought surprises to students from technology in their daily lives. Leonel from 6 (7) Class led the students to the seventh level of the universe -- divine civilization, where we were implanted with brain computer chips and came to the meta universe. Life and death are the most difficult gap to cross, but love and technology may shorten it. Finally, Nathan, from Class 6 (9), brought his science fiction composition "Near Planet" to everyone, telling the story of life and death. The wonderful speeches of seven students led us into the door of science fiction.

Later, Mr. Jiang Bo, a famous writer and science fiction writer who won the China Science Fiction Galaxy Award seven times and the Global Chinese Nebula Award four times, brought wonderful lectures to the students. Taking the well-known science fiction works "Three Bodies" and "The Night Before Star Wars" as examples, he explained the concept of the meta universe in simple terms, further introduced the secrets of science fiction writing, and sent a message to the students to continue to fly freely in the world of science fiction.

6(11) Daniel 6 (2) Claire 6(4) Alex 6(5) Albert Zhang

6(7) Ray 6(8) Bobby 6(10) Joshua 6(10)Summer 6(12) Sumi

Although the competition ended, we believe that the articles written by the students themselves may someday become a reality in the future. It is hoped that they will maintain their rich imagination, soar, and gallop the Milky Way in the years to come.
