Pudong Campus: Splendid Sports Meet!

In the cool breeze on Thursday, October 13, the Sports Meet at Pudong campus finally began! After various trials during Sports Week, all the students on Pudong campus have been saving up their energy to be released on the Sports Meet day.

At the beginning, students marched onto the field and performed their marvelous fitness dance for the audience. Ms. Liu Fang, vice principal of SHSID middle and primary school, announced the official start of the Sports Meet and motivated all the students to put their best effort and cheer for each other. Mr. Wu, director of SHSID Pudong campus, gave a speech afterwards, hoping that everyone will pursue their passion for sports. He further encouraged the students to build a healthy and strong body, pursue their sportsmanship, and experience the joy of sports. Later, Daniel from class 5(2), the representative of student athletes, shared his understanding of sportsmanship and the benefits of exercise.

Students started their competitions with a “bang” in the 30-meter dash. All the students were cheering for the athletes and showing their support. Then students took part in different kinds of activities including kangaroo jump (sack race), long jump, three-legged race, dribbling competition, and basketball toss. All of them cheered for each other’s great effort. The students said that all these memories were so precious that they would never forget.

Last but not least, the breathtaking relay race began! The athletes tried their best to win the game. Although it’s impossible for everyone to be the winner, they felt a sense of belonging and truly enjoyed the moment when their classmates and teachers were cheering for them.

The Sports Meet ended with an exhilarating atmosphere. All the students became winners when they put in great effort and learned sportsmanship. The day was made even sweeter when everyone earned a celebratory ice-cream cone in the end!
