G6: New Departure for Grade 6 students in Youth Development Class
On the afternoon of 8 September, G6 students in SHSID Puxi campus attended their first YD class of the term. At the beginning of the school year, the G6 students were full of energy and enthusiasm for the new semester, which means not only a new start, but also a new experience and challenge. For G6 students, it is a good time to analyse their strengths and weaknesses and set reasonable goals for themselves. During Thursday’s YD class, G6 students learned about the SMART goal-setting method and started setting themselves mini-goals for this September.
The SMART method of goal setting helps students to set goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant to their lives and learning, and time-bound. In the process of setting goals using the SMART principles, many students even added specific details on how to achieve their goals and complete their plans, making the path to their dreams clearer under their feet. The teachers also provided encouragement and advice based on the students' plans.
Reasonable goals are the beacon of life. We believe that students who have just entered middle school will work harder with their respective "small goals" and "big dreams" in mind.
In the second YD lesson, students used their imagination to design and make their own beautiful Teacher's Day greeting cards. The cards were made by different students, but they all expressed love for their teachers.
In the autumn light, our students embark on the path of growth under the guidance of teachers. Let's strive to become better versions of ourselves and keep moving forward!
