Middle School Math Department: Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad 2021 Awards

The 2021 Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO) was held as scheduled this year. It was a challenging event for students, sponsored by the world’s leading academic institution, the Australian Maths Trust (AMT). The AIMO is aimed at students from grades 7 to 10. It seeks to enrich mathematics education content and cultivate students’ interest in learning math. The competition is quite tricky in that students need to solve ten questions in four hours without using calculators. It is generally recommended for students who have achieved outstanding results in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC).

SHSID students earned remarkable achievements in the AIMO this year. One student won first prize (High Distinction), six students won second prize (Distinction), eight students won third prize (Credit).

At the competition, students cooperated and competed learned from each other, and prove themselves by overcoming difficulties. We are looking forward to more achievements and progress of our students in the upcoming mathematics events!
