Stallions U15 Boys Football Settle a 7-2 Win Against SUIS Gubei
On Monday, October 18th, 2021, SHSID Stallions’ U15 Boys Soccer team encountered their third away game in the 2021-22 season against SUIS Gubei, which resulted in a 7-2 victory against the opposing school.
Through previous knowledge and observation, the SUIS Gubei used a tactic of playing rather physically, which is quite contradictory to the league’s lean towards technicality. Due to such instances, unable to adapt to the opposing style of play instantly, the Stallions experienced a minor setback in the opening minutes of the game, conceding a goal caused by the high press implemented by SUIS Gubei. But the stallions quickly recovered and bounced back to score consecutive goals, boosting the score to 3-1 by half time.
With the confidence gained from the performance in the late first half, the Stallions set off in the second half determined to achieve more goals. Opening the second half with continuous goals from several different players within the squad, the Stallions quickly seized control over the game and despite another conceded goal, took the win home with an encouraging 7-2 scoreline. Surprisingly enough, the seven goals scored all came from different members of the team, in the following order: Mingda D., Scott C., Tom V.D., Josh C., Yuto N., John H., and Jerry W. (meeting his “quota” of 1 goal per game).
The SHSID Stallions U15 Boys team has won all three of their league games played so far, and is looking to face Wellington on Wednesday, October 20th for the last regular league game of the season. The team is standing at the top of the table currently, and are confident that they are able to keep the winning streak going.
