Grade 9-10:Club Showcase
For the past few months, the outbreak of the novel coronavirus has presented challenges to all of our lives. Although quarantine and social distancing have hindered students’ social lives, school activities are still active and organized and can alleviate some of the boredom and stress during the quarantine days.
On April 1st, the annual club showcase began. The epidemic has not impacted this event as much, because it was simply changed from an offline club showcase to an online club showcase. Different homerooms are still huddled in front of the screen watching the different clubs’ performances. During CAS class, the homeroom teachers displayed different posters and videos made by the clubs. And of course, just like all other activities, the students’ WeChat moments pages were bombarded by different “vote for _______ club” posts.
The highlights of the different clubs dazzled the students. For example, the C++ Programming Club’s skills are as hardcore as their presentation was, which exhibited a flow of different codes hard to be understood by the average student. Clubs focused on charity projects, such as AIM, had their members share their experiences in participating in the club’s activities. Other clubs like Ecocap—which focuses on environmental protection—introduced the students to their accomplishments from the past school year.
At 4pm on the same day, the club voting process was initiated. Freshmen and sophomores loaded their Blackboard page, and started voting for the “five-star” and “four-star” clubs. We hope that all the different clubs can attain their desired levels!
