Live Your Dream — the Briefing of the College Acceptances of Class of 2020

As of March 28th, 2020, the majority of class of 2020 has received application results from colleges all over the world. A few seniors are still applying to colleges in Japan, South Korea, Australia and Singapore, following the relevant college requirements and timelines. Thank you to all the teachers and students for your hard work! Congratulations to the class of 2020!

The following list represents just a fraction of the college acceptances the senior class has received. Some notes are as follows:

1) Every year, around 200 seniors graduate from SHSID. About 100 graduates choose to matriculate to US colleges and the remaining students go to colleges in other countries and regions for higher education.

2) The college acceptances of class of 2020 are announced publicly once only. There will be no further public updates. The full list of college acceptances will be shared within the school community and will be used for reference by future seniors.

3) The colleges with an asterisk admitted more than one senior student.

4) The following college acceptances donotinclude the application results of students graduating from the local division of Shanghai High School.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused so many uncertainties and losses that everyone has had to learn how to cope with dramatic changes and adapt quickly to new challenges. Despite the announcement of the cancellation of IB and A-level exams in May and the alteration of AP exams, the school requires all senior students to continue working hard throughout the last two months of their final semester. We believe that students will continue to broaden their thinking while improving their overall competencies and qualities. This is the wisdom of “persevering the status quo”. Education should not be driven by external assessment, but should be inspired by interest and passion. Only proactive study can prepare us better for future uncertainty. If we are passionate about studies, we will be able to make a better world. There is no end to learning. We are all life-long learners.

We hope that all senior students achieve their dreams.
