Grade 10: Club Activity Sharing

In March, all of the students began online learning because of the coronavirus outbreak. However, club activities didn’t stop because of this. Even though students cannot meet in person, Ecocap leaders still organized online events for members. Preparing lectures is the major activity that Ecocap is working on right now.

The topics leaders chose to focus on included serious environmental issues in society, the best ways to protect the environment, and others. 17 members of the Ecocap activity department were divided into 5 groups, and each group is responsible for one topic. In order to ensure better communication, each lecture group has its own WeChat group, and they occasionally meet up online to discuss their topic. One leader has also been selected among members in each group so that everyone is preparing for the lecture materials and completing their tasks on time. Although it is impossible for members to go back to school to give lectures right now, the preparation that members spent time and effort on will ensure perfect presentations in the future when the epidemic is over. In addition, Ecocap is planning to collaborate with other schools so that members can have more opportunities outside of campus. Ecocap leaders are also trying to hold online lecture sessions for members. Understandably, the coronavirus is the trending topic that everyone is paying attention to. Therefore, this epidemic is also one of the main lecture topics that Ecocap members are researching. Ecocap members will also give a deeper analysis on the outbreak of the virus, such as what caused this epidemic and how the virus relates to the environment. This shows how young people care and are learning about this worldwide social issue.

In conclusion, this coronavirus has made a huge impact on everyone, but it will not deter the progress of the Ecocap club. Ecocap will still hold activities online. Considering other CAS events, students can also share their ideas and opinions about social issues. Also, there can be suggestions for activities that students can do at home that help the club's development in ways besides online classes.
