Grade 10: One-to-One Course Consulting
In the CAS class on March 18th, the 10th grade homeroom teachers provided one-on-one course consultations for students in their respective classes to aid them with their course selection.
Choosing is never easy. For 10th graders, course selection is one of the most difficult decisions they have ever had to make—how do they avoid giving up opportunities too easily or stubbornly holding onto the wrong choice, and maintain a good academic performance while developing in the direction of each's interest? For the whole afternoon, the teachers met with each student individually to patiently aid them in their decision making, reminding students of the potential risks and benefits of each option. Students also came well prepared, presenting their thoughts and opinions to their teachers, who listened carefully and provided specific considerations and advice for each case. Through the consulting, students were able to put down their worries and march forward in their academic careers with confidence.
The virus has separated us, but our hearts stay connected. The computer screens cannot block the warmth between the students and teachers. Other than just talking about the course selection, students and teachers shared stories of their experience staying at home—exercising indoors to keep a healthy lifestyle, thoughts about learning online, and hopes of getting to go outside soon. It was a truly meaningful conversation.
