Pudong Campus Grade 1-5: The Epic Online Pi Day Celebration
Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 around the world. Our teachers prepared joyful and challenging activities for the students. Although this year the students had to celebrate at home, this was a good chance to train their independent learning abilities. At the end of the Pi day, the students not only knew more about Pi, but realized how math is everywhere in our daily lives.
After learning theknowledge about Pi, the first grade students started to find the exit of Pi maze and created the city skyline according to the digits in Pi.

The second grade students started the Pi day by doing the survival games online. Then, they warmed up and began their journey at homeof finding 10 round-shaped objects that could show Pi.

In the meantime, the third grade students were creating their own soccer balls! They needed to answer the questions on each face, and then glued them together to get a pentagon ball. During this activity, the students were able to learn the interesting facts about Pi!

The fourth grade students started Pi day by finishing the fun and challenging online game. After that, they created their own Pi artwork by connecting the digits of Pi on the circumference of a circle. They were all surprised by the masterpiece they have built!

After watching the fun video of Pi day, the fifth grade students enthusiastically challenged themselves by singing the incredibly long Pi song. Who could sing it longer without changing the tempo? The teachers were impressed when listening to the audios uploaded by students. After the online class, our math fans made full use of resources at home and created various Pis with their vivid imagination. What a fantastic and unique indoor Pi Day!

Celebrating Pi day at home is not easy work. Thanks to all the teachers for workingso hard to buildanonline learning wonderland for our students! They have paid great attention to detail in order to make online learning moreefficient and effective. All the teachers in SHSID are dedicated to guiding the students to experience the joy of learning, find the charm in every subject, and motivate the passion for exploration!
