Puxi Grade 4-5:Art Festival Combining Students, Teachers and Parents
On the morning of December 18th, the long-awaited Art Festival of the fourth and fifth graders in Puxi was successfully held. There were more than 20 programs, including collective performances participated by all members of the music classes, individual performances led by several students, an enthusiastic parents’ performance and an eye-catching teachers’ performance. It was cold outside, but the auditorium of SHSID was full of laughter from teachers, students and parents. Chorus, recorder, dance are just a few types of performance.
Students, teachers and parents spent a long time preparing for the Art Festival. Let's hear what they say——
Individual performance participants: 4(1) Eric & 4(2) Felix
"Before the festival performance, we had been rehearsing the program for a long time. While practicing dance, recorder and other collective performance in music class, we also worked hard to practice individual performance, hoping to give the audience a wonderful performance on the stage. I hope you love our performance! "
Teachers in charge of the festival: Lu Luting & Pan Yang
"In the Art Festival this year, the number of students' individual performance has greatly increased. From the initial selection, we marveled at the talents of the students. Some groups had already independently arranged and completed very mature programs at that time.
We first integrated the same type of programs. In order to present a better stage effect, we also tried many new methods, such as the fusion of classical dance and Chinese traditional instruments, the battle between piano prince and hip-hop boy. This was a very challenging performance for the students. They spent a lot of effort to prepare and practice and even sacrificed lunch recess. Finally, they delivered the new fusion perfectly on the stage. We are so proud of them!
As teachers in charge, it is worth all the time and efforts to realize the best stage effect. Seeing the performance presented perfectly on the stage, the sense of satisfaction and achievement are unparalleled. "
Parents’ performance participants:
"Thanks to SHSID for giving us a stage to participate in the 2019 Art Festival and celebrated with the children and teachers. We chose the theme song Dancing Queen from the musical Mamma Mia and composed a singing and dancing performance.
We decided to take a part first because we thought that oral education is not as effective as a model action. We often encourage children to participate in various activities, enjoy the influence of art, experience teamwork and cultivate sense of responsibility. This time, we want to show the children that their parents are practicing the same idea. Second, the school has been teaching about growth mindset, letting the students believe in the ability to grow, and believe that through learning and practice, they can become better. In our performance, all the mothers went out of their comfort zone and learned to sing and dance. We tried our best to become "growing parents". This was a vivid growth lesson for our children.
In spite of all the difficulties in the rehearsal, the mothers tried everything they could to overcome them. At the moment of standing on the stage, we were very excited, hoping to bring you a happy, rhythmic and passionate song and dance. "
In addition to attractive programs, we also invited a "secret Santa" to pick some lucky students who can get a special gift. The students who were drawn were very happy, while those who were not drawn were also very happy for their classmates. The happy atmosphere in the auditorium rose again and again.
The success of the Art Festival owed to the students’ participation, the teachers' organization, and the parents' voluntary devotion to help make-up, take photos, charity sale, etc. All members of grade four and five participated in the Art Festival. It not only enabled the children to enhance their stage performance, but also raised their team spirit through rehearsals of the programs. Teachers and parents were also involved in it, showing the close communication between home and school.
We wish all the children a happy new year and a healthy growth!
