Junior Section Math Department: Grade 7 Projects

December 17, 2019

Time flies when you’re having fun. The Fall 2019 semester is already coming to its end. In the past few months, 7th grade students have completed many creative mathematical projects, such as plotting images in the coordinate plane using ordered pairs, creating unique encryptions with semiprime numbers, and analyzing survey questions using statistical analysis.

Some of these mathematics projects require student cooperation and collaboration, while others are completed independently so that students can display their own understanding of the content. Many of the tasks incorporate interdisciplinary skills and real-world applications, such as formulating research questions and analyzing collected data to draw conclusions.

The objective of these projects is for students to apply their knowledge and make connections both inside and outside of the math classroom. Teachers are impressed by students’ engagement with the content, since the final products have showcased their creativity and ingenuity. We are proud of their efforts and look forward to more unique projects next semester.
