Pudong Campus:Squash is Fun!
On Oct.15th, all the students of Pudong campus enthusiastically enjoyed the racquet sport “squash”. As one of the major events of our Sports Week, this had been long anticipated by both students and teachers.
When students of different grades arrived at the designated location on campus, they could see an outdoor squash court set up in front of them. After the coaches gave a brief overview of squash and explained its rules, the students were divided into several groups. Next, half of the group started to do warm up exercises while the others were taught the basic techniques of squash, and then they rotated. When our little squash players were ready, they stepped into the inflatable squash court orderly and made their first shots. Later came the most intriguing part: a short adversary game. Holding the rackets correctly and firmly, the players tried their best to aim and hit the ball. Utilizing their newly acquired skills, they quickly shifted between defense and offense. Throughout the whole process, everyone was thrilled and would have probably played for a whole day if given enough time. Because of this squash activity, the students and teachers got to know more about sports and were engaged more in sports, which surely is the essence of our colorful Sports Week.
