Grade 6: Yamaha Music Center Visit
Music is art come to life. On a cloudy, but partial sunny Thursday, class 6 (7) traveled to the Yamaha Music Center for their Career Day field trip.
As the students stepped into the exhibition hall, they were fascinated by their surroundings and the beautiful indoor design. At first, they went to the electronic piano room, where rows of pianos were placed for artists to play and for composers to create music. All the students had a great time trying out the different types of piano styles, such as jazz, rock, and classical. On the second floor of the exhibition, plenty of wind, string, and electronic instruments were placed on the table. After trying each of the instruments, they watched several short clips about Yamaha’s company history and how it has been able to bring beautiful sounds to the whole world.
Finally, at the last stop on the tour, they saw the coolest instrument of the day: the hybrid piano. Designed for educational purposes, the hybrid piano can play songs simultaneously, even if the musician is thousands of miles away. The piano, estimated at a cost of 3 million RMB, is the innovative product of the modern music industry. The students were intrigued by the creator of this hybrid piano, and about how he/she came up with the ingenious idea to create this wonderful product. By combining a traditional musical instrument with cutting-edge technology, people can advance musical performances into a new era where physical distance is not a limitation. As for all the students of 6(7), this trip to the Yamaha Music Center was unforgettable, and they cannot wait until next year’s Career Day! A big thanks to Jacob’s dad for organizing this amazing journey!
