Puxi Grade 1: Donates to Make-A-Wish Shanghai

December 28, 2018

The Charity Fair held in the Primary Section of SHSID on November 28th was a great success. A new record for charitable donations was reached, totaling 200,000RM. The first graders decided to donate 40,000RMB to Make-A-Wish Shanghai as they help many children with serious diseases. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is devoted to helping these children making their dreams come true. The money raised from the Charity Fair will help the wishes of more sick children be granted.

During the PG class on December 27th, all of the first grade students, teachers, and representatives from the foundation participated in the donation ceremony. The CEO of the Make-A-Wish Shanghai Foundation, Ms. Zhu Jie, hosted the whole ceremony with first grade leader, Ms. Yang Yijuan. Ms. Zhu explained to our students what the Make-A-Wish foundation does and introduced some of the children that they have helped. Then, six student representatives from our six classes donated the money and gave their best wishes from the whole grade to all of the children who suffer from these illnesses.

Every grade one student and teacher feel incredibly proud to have raised money for this charity. As the foundation’s tagline says, they have helped transform lives, one wish at a time.
