A Successful Lego Creative Construction Activity

On Saturday, June 2nd, 5 teams from SHSID primary section Puxi Campus attended the Lego Creative Construction Activity. The activity had been going on for 4 months, with 350 teams from different schools in Shanghai competing in the district level rounds. Our 5 teams stuck it out and reached the municipal round last Saturday. This year the main theme was ‘Fantastic Ocean World’. All team members needed to read Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale ‘The Great Sea Serpent’, discuss the ocean, design Lego models, and present their ideas through speech or performances..

All the teams started team building, choosing topics, and planning at the beginning of this semester. Since then they have worked hard building their models and rehearsing their performances. Through the whole process, the Grade 1-4 candidates not only improved their knowledge, creativity and practical abilities, but also learned how to work together to solve problems.

After the intense model-building and exciting speeches, our 5 teams left a very deep impression on the audience and judges. Team Scientist Knight, Team Peaceful Marine Village and Team E-community won the 3rd prize. Team Bright Pearl from Grade 2 and the Nature Environmentalists won the 1st Prizes. Hopefully every student who joined in with the competition may feel happiness and pride in their achievements, and never forget the importance of the ocean!
