Pudong Campus: Charity Fair
Pudong Campus: Charity Fair
In the afternoon of May 5th, the students of SHSID’s Pudong campus finally held their long-anticipated Charity Fair. To our students, the Charity Fair is more like a carnival on campus.
In order to get prepared for the event, our students started their preparations a whole two weeks ago. From purchasing or making the goods, to making posters to attract customers, to sending promotional messages throughWechat, our kids did all the hard work themselves and quite enjoyed doing so. They did all this to raise more money for those who are in need right now.
Our Charity Fair began at 12:50pm. All the students rushed into the cafeteria and began to search for their favorite goods and booths. You could find everything you likedthere. There were specially designed stationary, delicate hand-made objects, well chosen toys, and delicious snacks. And you could, of course, find healthy living plants and lucky draws. The most popular activity in our Charity Fair was the Pie in the Face game held by the ASB members. The lucky students had the chance to throw a pie into one of the teachers’ faces. The whole cafeteria went crazy when the lucky kids raised their pies. Then after that, our ASB members were extra considerate and prepared paper towels for the volunteering teachers to clean up.
Walking in the cafeteria, you might find that our students were not only customers, but also responsible sellers as well. They answered their customers’ questions so patiently and counted the tokens with great carefulness. They also served food and drink to their fellow students and parents with great enthusiasm and send their mobile stalls on tour to give their customers more chances to browse their goods. Our students put a huge amount of effort into all these things to raise more money for those who need our help.
We rose more than 30,600 RMB this time. All the money will be donated to the Hope Primary School in Yushu, Qinghai Province. We sincerely hope that this fund can help them pass the next freezing winter more smoothly and helptheir students get the best possible experience out of their time in elementary school.
