The Power of ART---Students Art Center in Zhongxing Building

Established at the beginning of this year, the Zhongxing Art Center is an integral part of artistic creativity at SHSID. Consisting of both the Zhongxing Gallery of Art and the solo Exhibition, the Center houses the artistic works of students from grades nine and ten, exhibiting their work, encouraging an understanding of their artistic expression. The Zhongxing Art Center allows students to engage with art work, learn from each other, experience artistic creativity and foster a lifelong interest in art. This program introduces high art students to the skills and techniques necessary for art and publication design. The center is home to a community of like-minded students, and uses works collected from the students of grades nine and ten. These works are collected from club activities, the art center or artistic projects. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the beauty of the student’s creation and explore the meaning behind each piece. The student art center hopes to inspire more and more young artists to become part of the journey to create beauty through art.

Zhongxing Gallery of Art

The program strives to grant students the opportunity to present their artistic potential. The gallery is of high standards and encourages student’s original creative ideas. The changing seasons showcase a variety of topics. Students submit their work to the director’s office, accompanied by a short note for the benefit of observers.

Solo Exhibition

Students can showcase a personal exhibition of their works, whether an individual piece or a series, at the Solo Exhibition. The Solo Exhibtion is to be held once per semester in the Zhongxing Center and hosts a variety of techniques, such as painting, calligraphy, sculpture or models. The first artist to present her work will beKana Masui of grade ten. Kana’s works consist of paintings and calligraphy, and are teeming with Chinese elements and characters. The Solo Exhibition attracts an increasing number of students, hoping to showcase their artistry and reach their creative potential.
