Pudong G1:Dr. Seuss Week
Pudong G1:Dr. Seuss Week
Dr. Seuss wrote many popular children’s books, and our students really like him. Our students have read many works written by Dr. Seuss. To celebrate his March birthday, the 1stgrade teachers designed a “Dr. Seuss Week”.
During this week, students could make some of the fun fantasy things in the books into reality. First came mixed-up Monday. The children were welcome to wear “mixed-up clothes” to school, such as clothes that don’t match or shirts that are worn backwards or inside out. Then, our students wore their favorite or silly hat to school on Tuesday. After they read the storyFox in Socks, the students wore their craziest socks. On Thursday, students dressed up like Thing One or Thing Two (two characters fromCat in the Hat). Another option was to choose a friend in class to be their “twin” and dress up to match each other. On the last day, to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday together, the children could come to school dressed up like their favorite Dr. Seuss character.
During this whimsical week, our first graders learned all about the writer Dr. Seuss, read many of his magical books, and incorporated his stories into our English classes as well as our Personal Growth and Activity classes. All of the students got involved in this exciting time by participating in the activities and dressing up according to the themes related to Dr. Seuss and his books!
