The Parents of First Grade Coming to Introduce Their Jobs

On Wednesday, April, 8th, the first grade put an end to the Career Week with a visit from our students' parents as volunteers. They kindly came to the school and gave all the first graders a short speech about their careers.

All the parents who gave the students the speech have put great efforts on it. Every parent speaker communicated with the homeroom teachers about the appropriate career, topic, experiments and activities in advance. Every parent thought of many good experiments and activities which help the children know better about the career he introduced.

One parent from each class prepared a 15 minute talk with visuals to explain the main contents and responsibilities of their professions. We had a variety of different jobs for the students to learn about: an engineer from a testing company, an online food supplier, a woodworker, and even an ice-cream manufacturer! There are so many interesting careers! After the presentations, students were encouraged to ask questions about their parents’ presentations and get to know more about their different careers.

Every first grade teacher appreciated all the parents a lot who shared their time with the students and helped them to have a better understanding of how different careers work in the real world.
