SHSID 2014 Spring College Fair
SHSID 2014 Spring College Fair
On April 26th, SHSID hosted the first Spring College Fair in the Xianmian Building. 18 colleges and universities were invited to share their information with the parents and students. Based on last fall's college fair questionnaire, the college counseling office made the invitation in accordance with the students’ and parents’ requirement, hoping that students could get the chance to talk with the admission officers and college representatives to help and assist them in planning well for their future college applications.
This fair is open to students and parents from Grades 9-11. Even though it rained heavily, a large number of parents and students attended the fair. According to a rough survey, over 600 students and parents joined this event.
The theme for this fair was “Come Face to Face with the College of Your Dream." 18 colleges were assigned to different classrooms to host their own presentations. Before and after the presentations, there were 30-minute Q&A sessions so that individual questions could be answered. The whole fair lasted for four hours. In order to ensure that parents and students could get more information, the presentation was carried out in a rotating manner to ensure the information would be repeated four times.
After the presentations, the College Counseling Office sent out the questionnaire to ask for feedback from students and parents, which would guide us in planning for future college fairs.
Attached is the attendees’ list of the 2014 Spring College Fair.
