Pudong G5 Field Trip

All the fifth-grade students in SHSID Pudong campus went to the Polar Research Institute of China for this semester’s autumn field trip on December 19, 2013. The Polar Research Institute of China was built in 1989 and is located in the Jinqiao area now. It is an information center for Chinese polar science.

On that morning, when the students arrived at school, they were very excited and looking forward to the trip. They talked with happy smiles on their faces. “Today’s trip will certainly be a wonderful experience,” one of the students said to his friend.

At 1:30 pm, after about 30 minutes of driving, the teachers and students reached their destination, the Polar Research Institute of China. After entering the building of the center, the interpreter showed our students around the big exhibition hall. Every fifth-grade student listened to the detailed explanation very carefully and observed the specimens of the animals that live in the polar region with interest. They learned a lot of brand-new knowledge about polar research.

At 2:30 pm, the half-day field trip was almost over. Every fifth grader enjoyed a good time. The field trip not only gave students an unforgettable experience but also enhanced the friendships among classmates. All the students are looking forward to the next field trip.
