Grade 7 News Report

The SHSID Junior High School Spring Sports Meeting was held in our school on April 26, 2013. It began with an extraordinary marching ceremony, which presented an exciting atmosphere and was followed by the director’s speech and athlete’s oath. There were many events in this sports meeting, for example, the 100m race, 4*100 relay, 1000m, high jump and long jump etc. A lot of students have entered for the races with higher enthusiasm. They all have a heart of struggle; they ran and jumped, helped each other and encouraged each other. Through the rich and colorful sports and actively participation of students, the sport meeting achieved great success and enhanced the friendship between students. Now let’s take a close look at this event from the students’ perspective.

Class 7(1)

Look, here comes 7(1)! With our blue flag fluttering proudly in the air and our pink sign held tall, we march forward with confidence and grace. This time, 7(1) chose Chinese chess to be our sport, and we fought bravely against each other With amazing weapons on a huge chessboard especially made for this amazing sports meeting. After carefully doing what we were told, our class had a blast running, cheering, or encouraging one another. Overall, the sports meeting was a wonderful experience for everyone in our class! Yay!

Class 7(4)

On a beautiful, calm and peaceful day, we realized that spring has finally arrived. We gathered on the sports field, feeling the tension ringing in the air,

the excitement beating in our hearts. Sports are extremely important to us. They have an enormously big impact on our health, as well as our life. Having a healthy body not only enables us to study well, it also helps us to just simply enjoy our life more. Along the way, there are always difficulties and failures, but that didn’t stop us from approaching success. When we fall while walking on the path to success, we get straight back up and keep on walking until we get to our destination of success. We all promise to do our very best, compete only fairly, and respect our opponents, the referee’s decisions and our true ability. This sport meeting will stay in our memory forever.

Class 7(5)

7(5) is a wonderful class with people full of different athletic capabilities. We have great swimmers, great sprinters, and great tug of war persons. Our class simply loves sports! Together, we have a great sense of teamwork. This causes us to work together as a powerhouse, always. In our class, we not only care about studying. Like the sports meeting, we love to work together as a class. Teamwork and sportsmanship holds us together. Go! Go! Go! 7(5)!!!!!!!

Class 7(8)

We have a great time in the Sport Meeting that Friday. The music in the morning air made us feel pleased. We have been working a lot for the performance in the opening ceremony. As the Sport Meeting got nearer, we even used our lunch times to practice for the performance. And now, it finally came. Every one of us was very excited about this. As we walked nearer to the platform, my heart beat faster and faster. I was very nervous. But in the end it turned out that our class has done a very good job on those Hula-Hoops. The performance had been pretty fast, about for only 30 second, but I can see the hard works of all the students. I have to thank our teacher, Ms. Shen, who came out with this idea of using the Hula-Hoops. If it wasn’t for her, we can’t do such a great job. After the opening ceremony are the events. Our class participated in most of the events and has gone very good job.

Near the end of the Sport Meeting came the relay. I remember Mrs. Shen’s silhouette running on the track. As soon as she got the relay baton, she moved her feet as fast as they can possible take her, to the next person in front waiting for her baton. As she ran, I can even see the muscles moving under her skin. She ran like a shooting arrow across the field toward its victim. One...two…she ran pass two of her enemies and ran toward the next person in front of her. As the next teacher got the baton, she stopped, but her eyes followed the baton toward the finish line. Although the team lost, the teachers had been trying very hard.

The Sport Meeting has ended. But it will always be remembered by us students and teachers for the fun we have in that morning.

7(10)

Deng Deng…The music started, and so did the sports meeting for 2013, 5-8th grades. All the classes proudly marched in front of the podium where Mr. Ni

and other teachers stood and performed a different sport, dance, basketball, Chinese chess, tug of war, jump, Taekwondo , Kendo. One by one the classes marched toward the stand and performed. Finally it was my classes' turn, we were the dancers performing modern day Hip Hop. Our teacher clapped and counted when the five of us danced while our encouraging classmates cheered and clapped for us. All of our hard work had paid off, the performance was a success! The sports meeting was the most enjoyable day of that week. Our class may not have the fastest runner or the highest/longest jumpers or the furthest throws but since we tried our best we should be proud of our awesomeness and our achievements. We thank Ms. Gao and the other teachers for preparing such an awesome day for us and we would like to congratulate and encourage the people who did a great job and tried their best! Go 7(10)!
