2011 Harvard Summit

November 23, 2011

The flagship project of Harvard College Association for US-China Relations (HAUSCR)-- Harvard Summit for Young Leaders in China (HSYLC), is held at Shanghai High School from August 15th to 22nd. This is the 6th summit held by HAUSCR since 2006. The 600 outstanding high school students, having passed strict selections, finally come to Shanghai and Beijing to face the ultimate challenge from Harvard.

Selected from thousands of applicants, those excellent participants will interpret the four mottoes the summit has always advocated: leadership qualities, academic spirit, citizenship and entrepreneurship. In this year’s summit, students from both countries will launch meaningful exchanges on the issues of education and culture. Students will choose from a wide range of subjects within 28 Harvard appointed courses. The discussion-oriented education and small-sized classes will strengthen students' critical thinking ability and create a similar teaching atmosphere as in U.S. college education.
