History and Geography Department: Interdisciplinary Lecture on History and AI Skills

September 30, 2026

On September 29, the Grade 10 history class moved to the B1 theater of Zhongxing Building and the auditorium in the Xianmian Building. Mr. Shaun Moffat delivered an interactive, interdisciplinary lecture titled “Generative AI: A Smart Helper,” which integrated the discipline of history with AI tools, aiming to stimulate students’thinking about the role of AI tools in the history learning process.

The students had recently completed the task of selecting topics for their semester projects. Working in groups, they shared a single laptop and, guided by their teachers, participated in mini-activities such as “Persona Activity” and “History Detective.” Using the recently studied Age of Absolutism and English Civil War as examples, they simulated real-world scenarios to ask questions, reflect, evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of AI applications, while also clarifying the rules for using AI tools. Through these interactive experiences, students gained a clearer understanding of the reality that AI tools offer both high efficiency and limitations when addressing historical issues, leading to a deeper appreciation of how to use AI prudently in the future.
