STEM Doge Alliance
STEMDoge aspires to bring the joy of STEM to everyone, starting with the SHSID community. Within the club system, we aim to make connections between peers so that we can learn from each other. This year, we are trying out peer lectures within the club as a form of information sharing and icebreaking event. We aim to involve every single member of our 50+ person club into a vibrant community that we could be and learn through sharing passion for STEM through both online and offline contributions. Outside of our club and within the broader school community, we host many engaging events, collaborating with teachers to bring Bit Day, Mole Day, Pi Day, Physics Day, Biology Day, etc. Offline, we design interactive activities such as scavenger hunts and spot-the-AI-spy. Online, we make trivia and competitions through the Mini Program. Moreover, we post articles and memes related to STEM on our WeChat Official Account “理工狗的日常”, which has amassed 1800+ subscribers. Last year alone, the total number of interactions (shares or clicks) of our posted content reached ~15,000. Despite our name and reputation of being very STEM-oriented, our diversity of interests and skills far exceed the boundaries of STEM. Ranging from making humorous memes about STEM that people can vibe with, to having varied and wild artistic styles, our emphasis and embodiment of creativity is our distinctive feature. While the future is unpredictable, one certain thing is that, despite our evolving structure and function, STEMDoge will continually aim to share passion for and knowledge in STEM.
