High School Sports Week Kicks Off with Full Participation and Bursting Energy
Following the earlier rowing competition, various events of the High School Sports Week at SHSID kicked off on October 12. The cheerleading preliminaries for Grades 9 and 10 took centre stage during lunch breaks on October 12 and 13, striking a joyous opening note for the entire Sports Week. Meanwhile, a host of creative activities open to all high school students were launched simultaneously, instantly immersing the campus in an ocean of energy.
Held as scheduled in front of the Xianmian Building during lunch hours on October 12 and 13, the Grades 9 and 10 cheerleading competition saw every class send its representative team, presenting carefully choreographed two-minute routines of self-selected styles. After weeks of preparation and practice, every performance embodied the hard work of each team. With distinctive movement designs, clever formation changes and unique styles, each class showcased its creativity and talent. The dancing area was packed, brimming with students’ great enthusiasm for Sports Week and demonstrating the cohesion of every class.

The Sports Week also features a wide range of creative activities for all students. Breaking the boundaries of traditional sports, these events offer participants more diverse experiences, so every student can find a stage suited to themselves. The activities also encourage students to step out of classrooms and exercise actively, helping them develop healthier exercise and daily routines on campus.

The curtain has fully risen on SHSID Sports Week. Let us look forward to more exciting competitions ahead! May all students not only have fun during Sports Week, but also bring sports further into daily life, learning and growing with healthier bodies.
