Puxi Campus G6: "I Can!" Activities Kick Off
In September, Grade 6 students began their first year of junior high campus life, embarking on a brand-new journey of growth. This month, centering on the theme "I Can Be Responsible," the grade carried out a series of student-centered activities: goal setting, volunteer service, election presentations, and more. In one real-life scenario after another, students learned to be responsible for themselves and for their community, answering through action: "I Can Be Responsible!"
Set Goals, Find Direction
The Grade 6 character education course opened with the theme of goal setting, the first lesson of "I Can Be Responsible." Carefully designed by teachers, the four-week course unfolded step by step: students started by learning about SMART goals, then practiced breaking big goals into smaller milestones and using the "5-Minute Rule" to take action. They overcame difficulties along the way and celebrated every small achievement. In their planners and on their posters, students wrote down their most sincere expectations for themselves and for the grade.

Young Shoulders, Big Responsibilities
From writing down goals to beautifying their learning environment, "responsibility" moved off the page and into daily life. The Music Corner "We're Waiting for You to 'Play'" on the second floor of Building D officially opened, and the Summer Homework Exhibition on the third floor made its debut—both brought to life by a group of student volunteers. During lunch break, they set up display boards, decorated corridors, and arranged musical instruments, busying themselves with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, the task-oriented Activity Group was formed: some members planned the Mid-Autumn Lantern Riddle Event, while others prepared grade assemblies, fun relay races, and other activities, continuously contributing to the grade. In addition, many students took the initiative to share class duties—wiping whiteboards, collecting and handing out homework, and showing new students around campus, helping their peers settle in quickly. Through these everyday moments, a sense of responsibility gradually took root in students' hearts.

A Greeting, A Ray of Light
Responsibility for the community was shown not only in busy hands but also in morning greetings. Every morning, teachers arrived at the entrance of Building D with care, smiling as they welcomed students and staff in. Everyone responded warmly, starting the day with positive energy. The grade team used "WOW!" cards, "GREAT JOB" praise cards, and thoughtful little gifts to acknowledge and record these heartwarming moments. As it turned out, "responsibility" can also be a simple greeting and a quiet presence.

Shine with Confidence
When "responsibility" became a habit, students found the courage to step forward, take on responsibility, and serve others. In the second week of school, 46 students signed up for the ASB election. After class-level preliminaries, the grade-level election kicked off on the afternoon of September 17, as candidates took the stage one by one to deliver speeches on how to make the grade a warmer, more caring place. At the same time, in preparation for the upcoming Sports Day, the new school year's House Performance also attracted many students. Between every movement of the tai chi routine lay a heartfelt enthusiasm to contribute to the community. Through each attempt, students honed their abilities and brought new vitality to the entire grade.

Home and School, Hand in Hand
This confidence for growth could not have been built without the partnership of home and school. In the first week of school, the Grade 6 team distributed subject teacher contact sheets to parents. Teachers kept in close, warm communication with families through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and emails. On the evening of September 23, the Grade 6 parents' meeting was held in the West Building Auditorium, covering grade expectations and transition, support systems for students and parents, and a curriculum overview, with in-depth conversations about children's recent progress. Hand in hand, home and school accompanied the children steadily forward.

This month, "I Can Be Responsible" grew from a slogan into part of students' daily lives: being responsible for their own goals, for the shared campus environment, and for the people around them, and giving their best to every opportunity. As responsibility became a habit, confidence grew quietly alongside it. "I Can Be Responsible" is the first answer sheet Grade 6 has handed in to their junior high years. May every child carry this "I Can" belief and continue to move forward bravely in the days ahead.
