Puxi Campus: 2026 Sports Week

October 20, 2026

The colors of summer have not yet faded, while the feeling of autumn is growing stronger. It is at this wonderful turning point between the seasons that the fourth and fifth graders of the Puxi Campus welcomed their own Sports Week. For a whole week, every corner of the campus was alive with the nimble figures of the youngsters—running, jumping, cheering, and laughing, with sweat glistening in the sunlight and teamwork growing through collaboration.

Monday

On Monday, a lively spirit began to stir in the teaching building. The fourth and fifth graders stepped out in colorful athletic socks, their bright hues bouncing with every step, adding a touch of vibrancy to the campus. This officially raised the curtain on Sports Week and quietly set off a fresh wave of sunny, healthy athletic enthusiasm across the school.

During that day's PE class, the fourth and fifth grades organized a fun-filled team obstacle challenge. Activities such as the "Hula Hoop Relay," "Balance Ball Challenge," "Pipeline Sprint," "Basketball Shooting," and "Yoga Training" took turns unfolding. On the field, each class's "Strategy Team" also pitched in ideas, offering suggestions for the competitions. In such a joyful atmosphere, the students not only experienced the richness and diversity of sports, but also deeply felt the satisfaction and team cohesion that come from collaboration through hands-on participation.

Meanwhile, the fourth and fifth grade classes engaged in a contest of strength and chemistry—tug-of-war. When the whistle blew, the team members gripped the long rope firmly, leaned their bodies back, and transformed the techniques their teachers had coached them on before the match into a single concerted effort shared by the whole class. The rope marker swayed left and right, and the cheers from the sidelines surged wave after wave. Eventually, victory was decided—but what was more moving than winning or losing was the unity and perseverance forged among the teammates of each class.

Tuesday

On Tuesday, the sports field was at its liveliest. A spectacular sports meet brought the atmosphere of Sports Week to a boil, and the entire field instantly turned into a sea of jubilation. Dressed in neat athletic T-shirts, the students entered one class formation after another with light and buoyant steps—each concise movement cleverly capturing the spirit of different sports. Then, one intense yet orderly competition followed another. On the track and field, figures moved in perfect harmony with one another, and every baton pass and every cheer told the story of the truest meaning of sports—walking hand in hand and giving it your all.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, Sports Week welcomed a "Sports Hat Day" where creativity and style intertwined. Bright baseball caps, ingenious swimming caps, and professional-looking cycling helmets made a stunning appearance—every scene atop the students' heads was filled with their love for sports, weaving together a flowing corridor of sports culture on campus.

With the ASB members' preparations, the students welcomed a unique "Sports Knowledge Challenge," which also served as the first practical exercise for the newly appointed ASB team since taking office. Before the event began, they had already used morning meeting periods to explain the competition procedures and answering guidelines in detail, sorted out various sports categories clearly, and carefully designed questions in a progressive manner from easy to difficult—covering everything from the origins and hosting cycles of the Olympic Games to the judgment of offside rules in football; from the techniques for using starting blocks in track sprints to the breathing rhythms of the four swimming strokes; and even the scoring methods of curling in winter sports and the types of fouls in short track speed skating. Through round after round of quick-response questions and reflection, everyone not only truly appreciated the unique charm of each sport, but also deeply understood the resilience and perseverance forged by athletes through years of hard training, day after day.

Thursday

On Thursday, the teaching building transformed into a vibrant stage of fashion. Students changed into their favorite athletic outfits—some looked upright and dashing in fencing uniforms, some radiated spirit in lacrosse jerseys, and others directly "transformed" into their admired sports idols. Each outfit of distinct style not only showcased the blend of strength and flair, but also carried the children's aspirations for the future.

The classrooms of each class were converted into a stage for a "Sports Talk Show." The young sports stars selected by each class took the stage one by one, using images and photos from their daily training to tell the little stories between themselves and sports: there were glorious moments standing on the top podium of the City Games, heartwarming clips of encouraging teammates on the field, and stubborn figures gritting their teeth and pushing upward in the face of difficulties and setbacks... These moments frozen by the camera not only recorded each person's growth journey along the way, but also allowed the audience to draw courage and motivation to keep moving forward.

In addition, the fifth graders teamed up with the first graders for a fun "three-legged race." As soon as the whistle blew, some pairs marched steadily forward chanting "one-two, one-two," while others lost their rhythm after just a few steps—and the fifth graders immediately slowed down, holding the little ones' arms with one hand and gently patting their shoulders with the other to soothe them. On the track there was no contention, only encouragement and patience. Through the race, the students not only gained laughter, but also formed warm friendships that crossed age boundaries.

Although the curtain has fallen on Sports Week, the joy ignited by sports still echoes across the campus. From the solidarity on the tug-of-war field to the witty exchanges in the knowledge quiz, and to the seamless coordination among cross-grade partners, every corner bears the marks of the students' growing and thriving.
