Grade 7: Clubs Introduction

In the afternoon of September 20th, all the 7th and 8th graders gathered inside the auditorium for just one thing: the clubs introduction.

Clubs are not new to SHSID students. But as they stepped into 7th grade, the choices for clubs are far more than before. Every school teaches Math and English, but clubs help us learn skills that cannot be often seen in our daily schedule.

We have Lacrosse, an unique sport that uses special equipment to toss balls to one another. We have clubs like the International History Bee and Bowl (IHBB), Social Studies support, and Creative Writing Workshop that teaches us extra information than what we learn in class. There were also interesting clubs like Podcasting Club, Games Club, Model United Nations, Debate Club, and Chess Club that gather a group of people with the same interest and learn more than just plain calculating. The WSC, or World Scholars Cup, which is famous for its teaching skills and alpacas, is surely the most popular among the students. As the teacher said, about 150 students signed up for the event, but only a few can be chosen.

The many choices of clubs gave every person a chance of joining the club that he/she wants to join, or even signing up for all.

The introduction to the different clubs is surely a good beginning to our new school life. Students can learn more than what they need to learn in a more interesting way. The clubs are the roads towards a brand new and interesting world.
