Puxi Grade 1: Creating Area and Perimeter Robot

Recently the first graders have been learning about the area and perimeter of shapes in Math class. So, the Math teachers designed an interesting area and perimeter robot artwork project for their students.

The aim of the project is to find the basic definition of area and perimeter. Before the students started their work, they needed to follow directions written on their task card and measure the area of their legs and arms, and the perimeter of their body and head. So students had to be really careful and attentive to count the grids correctly and then cut and paste on another piece of paper. After that, they also needed to decorate the paper using their fantastic imaginations.

All the students liked this creative art project so much. They reviewed not only the definition of area and perimeter but practiced counting with great attention and patience.
