Puxi Grade 5: Chinese Idiom Competition
Puxi Grade 5: Chinese Idiom Competition
During the Chinese class of December the 6th, all the Native Level classes had an idiom competition in the Primary section’s fourth floor auditorium. There were three competitors from each class. After three rounds, the final ranking was based on the total number of points which the competitors earned.
In the first round the words were easy and some competitors got full points. The idioms became harder in the second round and some of them were struggling. When it came to the third round, the idioms became even harder. You can’t write it out unless you have known many idioms before. Not only the competitors but also the audience focused on writing the answers.
The second part was questions for the audience. There were some riddles then an audience favorite: tongue twisters! Many students participated. They were all very
eager to get called up. The tongue twisters were really hard to say, but the kids enjoyed them all.
Lastly, the teachers announced the results of the idioms competition. The first place went to Ms. Yao’s class. Ms. Zhuo and Ms. Fang’s class won second place. The third place went to Ms. Liu’s class! Congratulations! All the students cheered for the winners and had a good time in Chinese class.
