During the weekly morning assembly on December 6th, Emi Takeuchi from 10(7) introduced the mathematical modeling contest.

First, Emi summed up the procedure of mathematical modeling competition. She explained that the original purpose of the modeling contest was to solve real life problems. Next, Emi introduced two of the most famous modeling competitions: HiMCM and IMMC. According to her experience, HiMCM requires a group of four students to solve a designated math problem within 36 hours, while the IMMC includes regional, national and global three rounds. Through these competitions,

participants can improve their collaboration ability, efficiency of solving practical problems and level of academic paper writing.

In the end, Emi encouraged all the students who are passionate about math or interested in new contests to try math modeling.
